Author Barbara Ralph was intrigued by her husband's family's talk
about the early days of Bisbee, experiences that their family
shared playing baseball, working underground, riding the trolley,
shopping in the community, and attending celebrations. Intrigued,
she wove their stories into her first novel, Copper Dreams.
Journeying
to modern-day Bisbee, Barbara discovered, in the Bisbee Mining
and Historical Museum, the photos of 1912 Bisbee that bring her
story to life. By researching the accounts she had heard, she
has produced an accurate historical novel, photos included.
Judy Perry, a well-known Bisbee artist created the painting for the cover using as a reference historical photos of the 1912 celebration of statehood day.
